Be a Great Parent
The Regional Municipality of Niagara's campaign which focuses on answering parent questions about effective communication, guidance and relationships with their child or teen. Useful poster resources and fact sheets.

Canadian Parents
Created in 1996, this site offers tips and articles on the stages of your child, family fun, single and step parenting, fathering and parenting in general. Also includes a message board, blogs and podcasts.

Centre for Effective Discipline ,USA
The Centre for Effective Discipline (CED) is a non-profit organization which provides educational information to the public on the effects of corporal punishment on children and alternatives to its use. Free downloadable parent support and training materials available.

Child Welfare League of Canada (CWLC)
CWLC is a national organization dedicated to promoting the well-being and protection of vulnerable young people. The site offers downloadable pamphlets, in many languages, related to positive discipline and parenting in Canada. 

Circle of Parents , USA
An American national network of parent leaders and organizations providing friendly and supportive environments led by parents. The website offers a series of tip sheets (in English and Spanish) for parents on a variety of topics.

Concerned Children's Advertisers - Long Live Kids!
Concerned Children's Advertisers produces and delivers social messaging campaigns on issues of challenge in children's lives, including child safety, self-esteem, media literacy, healthy active living and the prevention of drug abuse, child abuse and bullying. This site has tips and tools for parents and community workers.

Family Life Works
Offers family support services in the Calgary area. Over a dozen free tip sheets for parents, covering topics such as improving home/school communication, alternatives to saying no, reducing sibling rivalry, and more.

Focus on the Family Canada
A Christian site dedicated to upholding and strengthening the family unit.

International Mothers and Mothering Network

Today’s Parent
A Canadian parenting magazine that provides a parenting community, a library of information for all ages and stages, fun tools and features, discussion forums and contests.

TVO Parents
TVO, Ontario's public television, has created TVO Parents. This site provides information on a range of topics including family time, childhood education, and media awareness.  It also includes Your Voice, a weekly interactive podcast geared towards parents of children ages 2-12.

Baby's Best Chance
British Columbia’s Ministry of Health Services has created this new website for both new and expectant parents, featuring information on healthy pregnancy, early child care, and self care for parents.

Best Start Resource Centre
Best Start: Maternal Newborn and Early Child Development Resource Centre (Ontario) primarily supports those who work with expectant mothers and their young children.

Canadian Association of Midwives
CAM is the national organization representing midwives and the profession of midwifery in Canada. The Association of Ontario Midwives has created multi-language material about midwifery - Arabic, Farsi, French, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish and Urdu.

Canadian Breastfeeding Foundation
Provides resources on breastfeeding basics such as starting out, baby and materal issues/treatments as well as breastfeeding myths. Selected resources also available in Chinese.

Canadian Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths
Resources for parents and caregivers to ensure babies sleep within a safe sleep environment.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) USA
CDC's public awareness campaign, Learn the Signs. Act Early, aims to educate parents and caregivers about key developmental milestones in their children. This site offers downloadable fact sheets, resource kits, and growth charts in multiple languages.

Encyclopedia on Early Child Development
This encyclopedia, published on the Internet, is available free of charge.  It covers 33 topics related to the pyschosocial development of the child, from conception to the age of five, with the most up-to-date scientific knowledge. See also the Spanish version of the CEECD online Encyclopedia.

Fussy Baby
Devoted to helping parents deal with the practical issues and emotional impact that emerge from having a baby who cries a lot.  Also includes a forum for parents.

Health Before Pregnancy
An initiative of Best Start Resource Centre, this website for young adults and couples raises issues that can affect men and women and the health of their future children and provides answers to commonly asked questions people think about as they consider parenting.

Healthy Baby Healthy Brain
Created by Best Start Resource Centre, this site offers parents suggestions to help them support their baby’s brain development and includes 15 short videos on topics such as nutrition, sleep, play, literacy, physical activity, attachment, self-regulation, discipline, stress, etc. Intended for future parents and for parents of children aged zero to three.

Healthy Parents Healthy Children
A practical guide for pregnancy and being a parent, from Alberta Health Services.

International Breastfeeding Centre (IBC)           
Formerly known as the Newman Breastfeeding Clinic and Institute, IBC provides information sheets on breastfeeding in English and French as well as video clips with explanatory text in English, French, Spanish and Chinese. The clinic itself offers education services in the Toronto area.

Inuit Health Matters
Inuit Health Matters is an initiative of that aims to improve the health and well-being of expecting and new families among Canada's Inuit populations while celebrating traditional Inuit culture.

KidCareCanada Society
Provides new parents with information on infant development in easy-to-understand video format.

La Leche League Canada (LLLC)
Provides information about breastfeeding and helps to locate a breastfeeding support LLLC group in your area.

Provides evidence-based information and guidance about the safety or risk to the developing foetus or infant, of maternal exposure to drugs, chemicals.

Multiple Births Canada           
Multiple Births Canada strives to improve the quality of life for multiple-birth individuals and their families in Canada with an extensive network of local chapters, health care professionals and organizations.

Pacific Post Partum Support Society
Based in BC, the Pacific Post Partum Support Society supports women and their families experiencing postpartum/perinatal distress, depression and anxiety. The Postpartum Journey details the story of one woman's journey through postpartum depression and includes links to downloadable resources on self care, screening, treatment and more.

A web community built especially for expectant parents, new parents and parents with young children. Initially created by Invest in Kids and now managed by the Phoenix Centre.

Perinatal Mood Disorder Awareness Ltd. (PMDA)
PMDA is a non-profit organization devoted to increasing awareness and resources for postpartum depression and perinatal mood disorders across Canada, and helping individuals and families find support.

Postpartum Support International USA
Provides information and toll-free helpline support to those experiencing symptoms of prenatal or postpartum mood or anxiety disorder.

Take 30 for the Family
A collaborative effort of the PEI Children's Secretariat, Take 30 for the Family is a social marketing campaign designed to provide parents with information, activity ideas and tools to promote positive parenting and healthy brain development during a child's early years.

Talk to Your Baby UK
Talk to Your Baby is a campaign of the UK's National Literacy Trust which encourages parents and caregivers to talk more to children from birth to three years. The site offers free downloadable resources including bilingual Quick Tips topic sheets in 13 languages.

Trillium Health Centre
This site features a unique Baby and You section with videos on a variety of post-natal issues, such as caring for baby and mother. Videos also available in Urdu and Punjabi. 

Welcome to Parenting
Offers a comprehensive series of online prenatal and postnatal classes (cost associated).

Zero to Three, USA
Provides parents and professionals with information on the health and development of infants and toddlers.  From Baby to Big Kid is a free e-newsletter on how children learn and grow each month from birth to 3 years.

24-Hour Cribside Assistance - For Dads
This site for new fathers, a project of the Father Involvement Initiative - Ontario Network, was adapted from the 24-Hour Cribside Assistance Manual for Dad from the Region of Peel.

Canadian Father Involvement Initiative
By affirming and valuing the bond between fathers and their children, this site works to provide relevant and well-crafted information for fathers and for individuals, agencies and programs working with fathers.

Dads Today
Dads Today is a program of the LAMP Early Years Centre in Toronto. The site has fathering articles as well as links to two fathering blogs - Footprints of Fatherhood and The Best Job on the Planet.

A member-based site of pediatricians that is dedicated to the health, safety and well-being of infants, children, adolescents and young adults

Anaphylaxis Canada
Anaphylaxis Canada aims to inform, support, educate and advocate for the needs of individuals and families living with anaphylaxis (the most serious type of allergic reaction) and to support and participate in research. Section for parents includes strategies to use at home, school, daycare and when travelling.

Canada Safety Council
Dedicated to the cause of safety, the website has a section on Child Safety, including topics on helmet, traffic, school bus and online safety.

Montreal Children's Hospital - Trauma Website
Developed by trauma specialists at the Montreal Children's Hospital, this website provides parents and teenagers with information on injury prevention and trauma care. It includes an interactive house and quiz which highlights ways of avoiding typical injuries in and around the home. 

Mothers in Mind
Created by the Child Development Institute, Mothers in Mind is a mother and child program specifically designed to meet the parenting needs of mothers who have experienced family violence, childhood abuse, neglect or sexual assault, and have children under the age of four.

National Collaborating Centre for Aboriginal Health (NCCAH)
NCCAH supports the optimal health and well-being of Aboriginal Peoples of Canada, with a key focus on the well-being of children and youth.

NEW  Nipissing District Developmental Screen (endds)
endds™ is a developmental checklist that follows your child from one month of age to six years. It provides a snapshot in time of your child's development, and a starting point for discussion with a health/child care professional.

Ontario Lung Association
Campaign for a Smoke-free Ride is designed to give parents who smoke the information and support they need to give their children a healthy, smoke-free ride.

Parachute Canada
Dedicated to injury prevention, this site provides a number of downloadable resources for families on a variety of topics relating to safety and prevention.

Phoenix Centre for Children and Families
The Phoenix Centre (Pembroke ON), a children's mental health treatment centre run by a volunteer Board of Directors and funded by the Ontatio provincial government, also provides web-based information and resources for parents, children and youth.

The mission of the network for the Prevention of Gestational and Neonatal Exposure to Tobacco Smoke (PREGNETS) is to improve the health of moms and their babies by offering information, resources and support to pregnant and postpartum women and their health care providers.

Promoting Relationships and Eliminating Violence (PREVNet)

Psychology Foundation of Canada

Saskatchewan Prevention Institute
A non-profit organization that works to raise awareness and educate others about the prevention of disabling conditions in children.

Speaking of Kids' Mental Health
Kinark Child and Family Services, in partnership with Child Welfare League of Canada and the Provincial Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health have created this new communication and resource tool for youth, parents, educators and mental health professionals. The site also includes forums for people with questions about children's mental health. 

Toronto Public Health
Provides an alphabetical index covering a range of topics relevant to parents and families.

VON Canada - Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder
VON Canada has developed a user-friendly parent guide on fetal alcohol spectrum disorder called Let's Talk FASD.

Windsor-Essex County Health Unit

CCCF is a member-based organization that focuses on quality early learning and child care, advocating for national early learning and child care standards, a highly skilled workforce, and that all children and families in Canada have access to excellent early learning and child care services.

A national network of volunteers which values French as an integral part of Canadian society and education.

Canadian Safe School Network

ACC raises public awareness of adoption, promotes placement of waiting children and stresses the importance of post-adoption services.

The publication  Eating Well with Canada's Food Guide has been translated into 10 different languages (Arabic, Chinese - simplified, Farsi, Korean, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, Urdu) in addition to English and French. The food guide has recently been tailored to reflect traditions and food choices of  First Nations, Inuit and Métis.
